Martha Blanchfield is founder of SF Blue Tech group, which has as its mission to bring together ocean, water, estuary and conservation professionals in forums that educate, collaborate, invent and inspire action.

Outside of SFBT, Martha is crew for 98-foot 1928 classic yacht Electra, manages social media for Science Sailing Center, freelance reports and photographs for Latitude 38 and provides public relations services; past clients have included The Ocean Cleanup, SanDisk, Kingston, Nikon, Salesforce, Zesty.ai, World Ocean School and more.
On weekends she races, writes and photographs for RenegadeSailing.com. Her news and feature articles and photos appear in Nautique (Netherlands), SFGate.com, Points East, Classic Boat UK, Classic Yacht Magazine, J/Boats, Rangefinder, Latitude 38, Adventure Sports Journal and PICYA. She produces the San Francisco Master Mariner’s Benevolent Association newsletter.
How is SFBT funded?
All efforts are bootstrapped by Martha Blanchfield, who has an alliance with a local 501(c)3 which is able to grant fiscal sponsorship. We welcome program and event support. Email us to help.

We’re looking to showcase blue industry speakers, and collaborate to produce industry events and projects. We bring hands to clean-up and restoration projects, we have eager citizen scientists. Email us.
