Oceanways
Dhruv is an engineer, management consultant, adventurer and disruptive innovator. He has spent months in ocean racing. On a mission to eliminate 300m tonnes of plastic and CO2 from the planet, his not-for-profit project The Thames Project, where he cycled his handbike on rivers collecting plastic trash and raising awareness about plastic pollution, reached millions of viewers around the globe.
Dhruv is currently building Oceanways, an advanced technology for underwater cargo transport that uses low-cost underwater drones. The drones also have ocean restoration capabilities (e.g. microplastic filtration). His work has been recognized by the UK Prime Minister, and he is on the advisory board of the UK government’s £60m plastic innovation fund.

why have a start ups funding industry vertical?
Raising funds for a start up is time-consuming, intense, challenging. It is filled with elation and rejection.
For the funding vertical, we deviate from our San Francisco Bay Area roots to follow founder Dhruv as he travels around the world promoting and pitching. His posts will be honest, insightful and scrappy.
